Before diagnosing a patient with cryptogenic cirrhosis, it is necessary to exclude common etiologies of cirrhosis such as alcohol, viral hepatitis, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and numerous uncommon causes, including Wilson’s disease, hemochromatosis, Budd–Chiari syndrome, and biliary cirrhosis.

特発性肝硬変の患者を診断する前に、アルコール、ウイルス性肝炎、非アルコール性脂肪肝のようなありふれた病因とウィルソン病、ヘモクロマトーシス、Budd-Chiari症候群、胆汁性肝硬変などの珍しい原因を除外する必要がある。
