The patient's initial presentation is consistent with the presence of a viral syndrome such as infection with one of the hepatitis viruses; a member of the herpes group such as cytomegalovirus, Epstein–Barr virus, adenovirus, or herpes simplex virus; or possibly, human immunodeficiency virus.
患者の発症は、肝炎のウイルスの一つ、サイトメガロウイルス、Epstein Barrウイルス、単純ヘルペスウイルスのようなヘルペスウイルス科のウイルス、あるいはひょっとしたらヒト免疫不全ウイルスの感染によるウイルス性症候群があっても不思議ではない。
